Mrs. Stewart's 1st day of preschool

She did it! Made it through her first day of preschool. We had a couple kool-aid spills and at least a dozen "Where's my mom and when is she coming back" but we're good to go. A couple puzzled faces at the comment~ "You don't get to make the rules at preschool, now please sit down and I'll tell you what we're doing next" I do love my job and love the independence of a 4 year old. And then the bravery of a 5 yr old. I've got a fantastic life!

If you were Adam's preschool teacher, I would have no worries about sending him now instead of next year.
Sounds almost like Nursery but they don't really talk, you just learn to know what the teary eyes mean.

I'll be sure to explain to H when he goes where I'll be and when I'm coming back. Being abandoned *is* pretty rough.

I didn't know you were teaching preschool, that's so fun! I'm sure you're great at it. Pretty soon the kids will have so much fun with you they won't want to go home.

I like that you tell them what to do. I miss that...that children use to listen to me and do what I said. Why doesn't my own child just come programmed that way?
